Slovenian wine-growing areas

Podravje
Podravje

Rich in characteristic white varieties and some blush wines. Due to its northern location, the wines have a characteristic floral-fruity aroma. We are proud of the locations in this area that rank among the 4 per cent of the best wine-growing locations in the world! The grapevine has been growing here since ancient Roman times on the best soil and in continental climate. Typical varieties are Rhine Riesling, Laško Riesling, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Franconian Blue, Furmint.

Posavje
Posavje

Famous for lighter red and white wines. It is the cradle of Cviček, which due to a low level of alcohol and favourable health effects represents a speciality of the Slovenian wine growing. Both in this and other districts of the Posavje region, red varieties such as Velvet Black, Blue Franconian, Blue Portuguese and Pinot Noir are grown, as well as the white varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Laško Riesling and White Pinot.

Primorska
Primorska

The influence of the Mediterranean climate has created the best conditions for rich, strong wines. The Briška, Vipava, Karst and Istrian wine roads wind through vineyards where Ribula, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, White and Gray Pinot as well as red wines Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, Teran, Malvasia and Refošk are grown.
